March 13, 2014 in the reading room there was a literary evening dedicated to the works of genius of the Ukrainian people, which made him famous. At the meeting, students cited the work of Taras Shevchenko in the English translation, demonstrated world-famous translations of the Kobzar.

Taras Shevchenko is truly one of the classics of world literature. His humanity, brilliant images of people make him understandable and close to people of different nations, although he is a poet of Ukraine. Hundreds of attempts of translating Shevchenko have been made in almost all the major languages of the world. English language, which is spoken and understood by all continents, introduced Shevchenko to the world reading community the most.

The apogee of the evening was "Testament" of Shevchenko read by one student in French.

We can say that in the world there is no one who in his life at least once ran through pages of "Kobzar" of Taras Shevchenko. Works of this poet can be disliked, can be criticized, we can treat them with great love... In any case, they do not leave indifferent anybody. And this was proved during the literary evening.
